The Kirlin Group is looking for a Manager IT Infrastructure that will report directly to the Vice President, Information Technology. Kirlin is a privately held construction company that specializes in plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Kirlin also provides design-build and construction management services throughout the United States through its affiliated companies.

The IT Infrastructure Manager will be in charge of the team overseeing the infrastructure for the entire corporate network. Located in our Rockville Office (Headquarters), supporting over 800+ professional staff and 125+ servers and growing. This person will be managing a staff of 6 helpdesk and system administrators located in different offices. The majority of the time will be spent working on technical projects determined by company goals. While you will be a member of a larger IT team, experience and comfort independently supporting server environments is critical. You must possess a strong dedication to quality customer service, excellent follow through, attention to detail, and a drive to engage with Corporate IT challenges and initiatives. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, manage and coach infrastructure team members
  • Work with senior leadership to design and implement infrastructure direction
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships
  • Works with business operations teams to ensure good coordination of IT changes without impacting business processes
  • Responsible for upkeep and enhancements of all servers and networking equipment in a Windows environment
  • Document procedures and changes
  • Sets the direction and provides the technical skillset to ensure the computer networks are safe and secure
  • Ensure new systems work in a multi-site high availability environment with failover to disaster recovery site
  • Observe helpdesk tickets to watch for trending issues and respond as necessary
  • Handle escalation events as needed from team members
  • Part of the rotation assisting with monthly server maintenance process
  • Perform other duties and special projects assigned
  • Travel to remote offices as needed


  • Bachelor's Computer Science or equivalent degree required
  • 7+ years’ experience in system administration field
  • Success in leveraging both traditional best practices, such as IT service management practices based on ITIL, as well as emerging methods like DevOps that are optimized for agility

  • ITIL certification
  • MCSE is a plus
